Just Because

Emma over at Polkadoodle's decided the challenge this week is "All of a flutter - use pretty things with wings." I created a cute notepad holder using elements from the Double Sprinkle of Kraft CD-ROM from Polkadoodles.

Front view of the note pad. Did you notice the raised flowers?  I used a product called Liquid Applique in white and pink. You can go here to learn more about this Liquid Applique which I have posted previously here.

Inside view of the note pad. This makes a very simple and sweet gift for a friend or co-worker. Start with solid cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 7 3/4. Score on the long side (7 3/4) at 3 3/4 & 4 inches.  Adhere sticky pad.

Life is a Matter of Moments

I got this idea from Sandi MacIver's instructions. I love the SU Elements of Style stamp set for this creation. I did choose different colors than her original creations. I think this layout would work for all color choices. The stamped image was water colored. I love how the Top Note die works so well with the new Decorated Label punch. The punch fits perfectly in the center of the Top Note die. Are you impressed with this shabby chic card? Challenges I participated in: Make it colorful - Colour with Blue, Come and Get It Challenges - Green, Brown and Blue, Kaboodle Doodles - Flowers as main focus, Make it Monday - Anything Goes.

Scooter

This week's Polkadoodle challenge is to make something for your dad or another man in your life. Today, I want to share a card I design using the Not for Girls CD-ROM from Polkadoodles.

I choose to work with the scooter collection. The digital background paper was printed out and then ran through an argyle embossing folder.
Then I printed the other layers out three times and layered them with 3-d tape. Next, I added two antique brads which gives the card a masculine appearance. You could create a girls card by simply putting rhinestones or pearls in place of the antique brads. You have a super scooter weekend!
Challenges I participated in:
Do You Stack Up? - Birthday, Paper Shelter Challenge - Celebrate.

Craft Tip #11: Baker's Twine

During a search I came across this title “Make Your Own Baker’s Twine”…yes, I thought, how! How could I use this in my card making? All the beautiful colors.
Just some basic supplies and you too can make your own. Would this be something you would do? Please leave a comment......Click here to view a video on how to make your own baker's twine.

Paper Bag Lanterns

Aren’t these pretty? I love all the different colors and they would make a simple centerpiece or would look great hanging in garland fashion across the tree limb, eve of the porch or anywhere.
With the end of school, beginning of summer, graduations and 4th of July on the horizon as well, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate and have a party. Inserting a flameless candle or tealight inside would give it a natural glow at night. Click here to see how to make these paper bag lanterns.

For my crafting friends; How about stamping all over a plain white or brown bag with stamps, sticks, ribbon? Now you have one more decoration to add to your list.
