Mermaid Wishes

Today's post is a journal page made for the prompt: Treasure.  I started out with acrylic paints in shades or bright and dark orange, hot pink, lavender, dark blue and bright green.  Next, I took wax paper and added the leftover green paint to later use as seaweed.

Below is the photo I drew inspiration from.  I started out layering all the colors as indicated but, then added the painted wax paper to give my journal page texture.  I capture the rays of sunshine in on my page with a white sharpie.

We're Blushing Journal Page

This week's journal page is using the technique of Collage. You can collage words and phrases, pictures, patterns, photographs, your own artwork & homemade papers and paper scraps – anything you’d like!  This was my first attempt to do this technique. This recommend a glue stick to be used which will help minimize the rippling effect.  Along with the technique of collage I did some Zentangle.

After I completed this page, I thought why didn't I take a photo of the magazine items I'm using for this page.  Since I didn't take a photo, I will attempt to explained the photo's I used. The round circles are when you see photos of different paint colors in a magazine. The other image was a vase with roses.

Breath

Here is a journal page I created from the question, "How do you heal?"
I created the background using different shades of blue acrylic paint.  For me, the most important thing to healing is taking a breath. Would you like to play along?  Here is the link to the challenge Life Question week #14.

Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall

This mixed media journal page was created for The Mixed Media Monthly challenge. Their theme was April Showers and requirement was to create project related to rain.

I did want my page to have the traditional rain drops so I incorporated  Zentangle design. I really liked how the three vertical design on right side of the page give the impression of rain.

The page was colored with watercolors and highlighted with Zentangle design. The quote fits this page perfectly. Do you see the rain?

Live In The Moment

I created this page using watercolor paints. I love spring flowers and this was the first time I drew poppies. I submitted this project over at My Creative Moments for their Colorful Creations Challenge.

Red

This mixed media page was created based on my favorite color, red. I drew the lady on a separate paper then layered her over the large glitter flower. Red is bright, breathtaking.
