Life's Journey

This is a card created using a card template by Cheeky Radish designs. I sponged the edges with SU Pink Passion. I submitted this card over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, their theme was #105 Celebration. What's more fitting for the occasion than to celebrate "LIFE."

Directions for the flower:
1. Punch out 15 - 1 inch circles, sponge the edges with Apricot Appeal.
2. Once the edges of all the circles have been sponged you will roll the circles around
a pencil. This will give the circles a rolled look.
3. Using the SU scallop punch, punch out one scallop circle.
4. Layered the circles to a SU scallop circle punch.
5. Add a button for the center.
6. The leaves were created taking green cardstock which was passed through a
crimper and then I used the small oval punch.

Next, adhere a label plate with two brads.

Do you think you will give this project a try?

Buzzing with Friendship

This is a card I created using a Sassy Cheryl's digital image. This is a simple layout but it was difficult for me to do. You see, I love all kinds of embellishments. Not to use any on this card was a challenge. I think it would be a huge challenge for me to design a card and not use any embellishment and no pattern paper. If you would like to see more creations using Sassy Cheryl's images, I encourage you to go here and become a member.
What do you consider a challenge when designing cards?

Challenges:
- Just Cute Bears Challenge, their theme is "thanks"
- Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge, their theme is Card/project to make someone smile or cheer them up’

The sock monkey theme has been very popular lately. I remember when I was younger, just getting out of ear surgery when a nun came into my room and gave me my very first sock monkey. This is a card I created using a Whimsie Doodles digital image. I love this sentiment "100% Hubbable" by Create with TLC.

Did you have have a sock monkey growing up?

Family Pets

My project this week was made using the digital images created by Cheeky Radish designs. I designed the card using a technique called Faux Postage stamp. The card measures 5 x 5. This technique is fun and easy and gives your cards a unique look. The first time takes a little more work because you have to make your mask. You can find the template and instructions here.

Elephant

This week over at Paper Popsicles it’s all about our four legged friends….and we’re not just talking about the kind that live in your house. This is a card created using a card template by Cheeky Radish designs. I ran the card template through an CB embossing folder. I used the SU top note die and copper sheeting to make the blanket and add copper brads. The scroll work was created using a Sizzix die and I added the beading.

If you stop by Paper Popsicles this week you will get a free card template. What animal do you think it will be? Don't forget to link your four legged card using Mr. Linky

Friends

Over at For Fun Challenges this week theme was any type of card BUT we must use a rubber stamp and no digis were allowed. I felt this was very timely since I haven't used my rubber stamps for some time now. It is a simple layout however, I think it is very elegant.

What do you think?

Mulberry Flower

Pull out that old mulberry paper which you haven't used in years. Yes, I said mulberry paper. I have been seeing so many flowers made with tissue paper so, I thought why not try mulberry paper instead. The foundation of my flower is the SU scallop circle punch and then I cut 3/4 inch strips of mulberry paper and then ran the paper through the crimper. I added adhesive to the scallop circle and then started going around and around until I felt there was enough texture to the flower. I added a brad to the center. I just loved how this turned out. Have you made any of these paper flowers yet?

Challenge:Cute Card Thursday. Their theme this week is a card for "Someone Special." My friend's birthday is coming up so, I thought I would give this one to her.

Tags of Memories

I'm calling this project "Tags of Memories." Read on for details. Here is a clever gift a my friend Jan taught last week in one of my stamp clubs I attend monthly. Her theme for the class was "green" so we made this project using used CD's which she has received in the mail. You know, the one's wanting you to buy their internet service, etc. I'm giving this unique gift to my mother-in-law for Mother's day. I'm going to have my husband write something he remember's about his mom on the back of each of the tags. I have placed an magnet on the back of the CD so she can put it on her refrigerator to enjoy. Over at For Fun Challenges this week's challenge is to make a card for a mom so, I submitted this project for their challenge.

This was a fun and easy project to make. Are you ready to give it a try?
