Let It Snow

Over at Verve Stamp blog this month's the December's challenge theme is "Oh Christmas Tree."  My card reminds me about Christmas snow and the fun of going sledding. I also participated in the Cat's Pajamas challenge. This color challenge required us to use red, kraft and black on our projects. I truly liked how this color layout worked. Adding the clear and silver sequins gave life to this card sketch. Next I added snowflakes to give the impression of snow.

Happy Holidays

I started this card from a store purchased card base. You can save money by picking up craft items at the end of the season. The main cardinal was embossed with silver and punched out using a 2 1/2" circle punch. I also wanted to carry the silver theme over onto the pattern paper by embossing the baroque stamp.

This card above is a clean and simple layout ceated with the embossed resist technique. I sponged certainly celery and not quite navy inks. I added clear and white sequins.

This is the wow card. I used the same process as above but I added clear rhinstones and layered the inked piece on white cardstock.

Christmas 25

I have a Christmas bag to share with you. This bag was created from two pieces of 6 x 6 cardstock. Using a Scor-Pal will make this project easy to make.

To create the bag take one of your 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock and score at 1/2" & 3" on the long side. Turn the paper and score at 2 1/2" from the bottom. Next repeat the same directions to the other piece of cardstock. Adhere the two pieces together to create the bag.

I stamped the main image on kraft cardstock with dark brown ink. Sponged the edges with the ink. I stamped the #25 in brown ink on light green cardstock. I punched out the circle with a 1 3/4" circle punch. I added poinsetta stickers, pearls and silver tinsel for the handle.

Santa Gift Box

Today's project was created out of a 4 1/4" x 11" sheet of red cardstock. Fold the cardstock in half at the 5 1/2" mark. On the 4 1/4" side place a pencil mark at the 2 1/8". From the 2 1/8" mark score diagonal line to the outside 5 1/2" mark. Repeat all four sides. The scoring creates the triangle box. At the top with all points together punch a hole and add ribbon to keep it closed.

The next step is creating the punched Santa. I used SU puches to create Santa: 3/4" circle (hat), 2 3/4" scallop circle (Santa hat), large oval (face sponged with red ink),  2-bird wing (mustache), 1/2" circle (nose sponged in red ink), build a blossom-large petal (beard sponged in light blue ink). I added dazzling dimonds to all the white punch pieces. Finshing touch add a black button.

Seascape

I have enjoyed teaching myself how to watercolor.  This is the first time, I tried my hand at "waves."  I used several stamps to create the scene: sea grass and a adirondock chair. I stamped the images with Stazon ink onto watercolor paper and then used watercolor paint. The adirondack chair was applied with foam tape.

Heartfelt

I challenged myself to create a card using two colors. Today's card colors are red & white Valentine card. This card takes some time to create due to all the tiny punch white flowers glued to the center of a white die cut heart. To make this card die cut a large heart out of the center of a piece of white cardstock. Keep that heart, you will cut it down and use it to glue the tiny white flowers. After all the flowers is glued then add red stickles to the center of each. I think you can see how to create the rest of the card by the photo.

Love

Today's card is very simple with a unique color combination for Valentine's Day. This card was created using the Glitter Window Technique and one of the first techniques I learned. Sometimes it nice to go back and review previous techniques.

Glitter Window Technique:
1. Once you have your opening - simply adhere a piece of our clear packing tape in the window so that the sticky side is facing the front of your project.
2. Now coat that sticky surface with our Dazzling Diamond Glitter.
3. Then layer white card stock behind your glittered window.
4. You can see a video here.

Celebrate

Make this pretty cut and fold Valentine for your sweetheart. I choose to go easy with today's card by not stamping but, instead using up some stickers and materials I had laying around.

I used the SU Lacey Brocade embossing folder on the white background. Then, I used SU Heart border punch along with a free template I found on the internet. Using low-tack tape or plastic-tack attach the Valentine Cut and Fold Pattern to the some pattern paper. Using your craft knife or scissors, carefully cut along each of the lines making sure that you cut through both the pattern and the paper underneath.Remove the pattern. Fold back each of the half-heart cut outs. I did have to apply a small amount of glue to hold the hearts down. To cover up the center I adhered a foam glitter circle and a heart sticker. You can download the pattern here.
