Craft Tip #1: Picking Shears

Want to create a stitched look on your layouts? Do you own a pair of pinking shears?

Use it to cut a straight line down a piece of heavy cardstock. Then use the edges of the cut cardstock to trace zig zag stitches on your layouts using a fine black pen. You can also use them as a decorative border for any of your projects. Plus a great way to use it as a mask on a piece of cardstock or patterend paper.

It's Your Day

I have created an elegant desk top accessory for your enjoyment today. This is a great project to give to your friends for many occasions. These are made by purchasing a 4x6 acyclic frame and inserting a piece of designer paper.

Many times you can find these acyclic frames at a dollar store. The white note pad was made by a local printing shop. You could create this project using post-it notes but, many of them come in pastel colors and I didn't want to be limited to a specific color combination. It would be easy to convert these for men by changing out the colors and accessories.

Here's a close-up of the flower. How to make the flower: cut pattern paper in 4 x 4 inch piece, you will need three pieces. Start tearing the paper in a circle. Do this three times but, each time make the circle smaller. Layer the different sizes on top of each other and insert an antique brad. Adhere to the frame with a pop dot. To adhere the pad you will want to use red tape so the pad overtime won't fall off from the tugging.

Challenges I participated in: Allsorts - Inspired by nature, Little Claire's Anything Goes

Recipe:
Paper: SU and HL
Other: SU Sizzlists Little Leaves die, antique brad, SU butterfly punch, 4x6 acyclic frame, small pen, note pad

We're Behind You

Tag your it! I created a tag to share with you today using the 'Were Behind You' digital stamp by Stretch N' Bubbles.

This tag says, 'We're behind you all the way.' Next, I added some fibers to give texture and color. This digital image would be great on cards, stationary, scrapbook pages or any project. You can purchase the image I used in the store here.

Love 6 x 6

I'm in the mood to make Valentines. I have another technique to show you today. Another SU club share. Our demonstrator showed us how to make this 6 x 6 Scrapbook page using a old dryer sheet. I was skeptical!

This technique has a similar effect to Dazzling Diamond Dust, but is much more diffuse giving you a very soft almost out-of-focus look.

The Dryer Sheet Technique is an oldie but a goodie. A simple way to dress up a card and make it unique. The glitter adds a wonderful quality under the dryer sheet. The card glistens!

DRYER SHEET DIRECTIONS:
1. Using a neutral piece of cardstock, stamp and color your image.
2. Cover the entire surface of cardstock with Anywhere Glue Stick
3. Press a used dryer sheet onto the adhesive, beginning in the center and smoothing out all the wrinkles.
4. Trim dryer sheet or wrap around and secure on the back of CS.
5. Pour Dazzling Diamonds all over it. Rub or press the glitter in, then tap off the excess.
Challenges I particpated In:
Crafts and Me - (2W,Weds) - red
Creative Craft World - (2W, Weds) - love
Flourishes - (Tues) Valentine
Do You Stack Up? - (Thurs) Red Hot
